Annie’s Choice

Raised October 25, 2011

“Annie’s Choice,” Owners, Jim and Mary DeBold, 7345 McCracken Pike, Millville, KY, Viewing Coordinates 38 ̊06’57.08”N-84 ̊49’07.42”W.

Mary is the Co-Coordinator of the Woodford County Quilt Trail.  This is the first quilt square the Woodford County Quilt Trail volunteers prepared.  The square was painted during the 2011 July 4th Celebration at Falling Springs as a public painting project.  “Annie” traveled to festivals during the summer of 2011.  Mary especially loved the Annie’s Choice pattern, and of course the UK blue and white.  Looking over this beautiful little farm, Annie’s Choice seems to be right at home.

Jim and Mary purchased this farm in 2005 from Jim’s Great Uncle Curtis Veatch and named it Reserve View Farm for the view of Woodford Reserve from the hill behind the barn.  They hope you enjoy this beautiful display of Annie’s Choice and the quilting tradition.

This country home was the home place of Ms. Elizabeth Haydon and her parents.  Elizabeth continued to live in her childhood home, after her parents passed away.  Elizabeth married Curtis Veatch in April 1950.  Together they spent many wonderful years at this homestead.  Mr. Veatch added the barn to the farm.  The farm was used for tobacco, cattle, and horses.
